Barre is a low impact, total body workout that effectively sculpts all muscle groups resulting in a lean and lengthened look. Besides the physical benefits of barre, students gain body awareness in alignment, develop a strong mind body connection, enhance their inner confidence, and strengthen their functional movement patterns for everyday living.

Each barre class at Barre Lab begins with a warm-up and upper-body exercises, then moves into thigh and seat work done at the barre, finishing with core work and a juicy stretch. Students predominantly use their own body weight as resistance, however we have plenty of props to ramp up the challenge. You can expect to use light hand-held weights, resistance bands, balls, Pilates rings, blocks… the list goes on. Some students like to refer to the props as “torture devices”. Barre Lab instructors encourage clients to work within their individual limits to continually push forward and maximize their benefits. The class is paced with upbeat, fresh music that carries students through variations in each exercise with the combinations being infinite. Students will never attend the same class twice as each is unique.
